What is a Pocket Park?

A pocket park is a mini park, often just the size of a tennis court. They are created on small bits of land, often in built up areas, and make nice relaxing places to sit. With the right plants, they can also be great for wildlife. If you have a bit of unused land in you area, why not ask the local councillor about it being made into a pocket park. They sometimes have small budgets for local environmental projects, or can apply for grants, so will be interested in ideas on what to spend the money on. They are not that expensive to make, and can make a big difference to a local area. Example below.
