Pomegranate bonsai or garden tree seedling - Letterbox friendly box

£3.75

Attractive tree suitable for bonsai or grown as an outdoor garden plant.

Native to the Indian Subcontinent (particularly Northern India), Iran and Afghanistan.

* Red flowers in summer.

* Can survive British winters outdoors.

* Grow as indoor or outdoor bonsai, greenhouse bush for fruit or garden plant for flowers and some fruit in hot summers.

1. Bonsai. The tree makes a great indoor bonsai tree, and can be kept very small in a bonsai pot.

2. Larger bonsai for conservatories and summer patios. If kept in a large planter it will grow larger than a bonsai, but still remain manageable. It can be grown in a conservatory, porch etc and if you want it can then be taken outdoors for the summer months after last frost day and kept on a patio, balcony, decking area, then brought indoors, before first frost.

3. Greenhouse or poly tunnel. The pomegranate can be grown as a bush in a greenhouse or poly tunnel. Either in a large planter or directly in the ground, and be pruned to the size you want, as it grows. Growing in a greenhouse or poly tunnel increases the chance of pomegranate fruit growing, as the extra heat will help set the fruit.

4. Outdoor garden plant. Pomegranate trees can survive British winters. It can be grown for simply ornamental reasons, as the tree has lovely red flowers. In a good summer these can grow fruit. However, in milder areas or a bad summer the flowers might not turn to fruit, or begin to later in the summer, but not have enough heat and time to grow as Autumn arrives.
